Jaguar E-Type

Jaguar E-Type has been a famous British Sports car, had a production life span of less than 15 years i.e. 1961 – 1974. The production line was based in Coventry. The car was introduced to the public in Geneva Motor Show. The car itself got so famous it was a wannabe my many famous personalities. The looks of the car astonished everyone from rags to riches. Princess Grace, Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra, George Best, Jaguar E – Type was initially a 2 sitter car and was shown to public as a grand tourer. The fastest car of the time in 1961 was Jaguar E- Type, it was the affordable sport car, Roughly half the price of Ferrari. The 3.8 liter Straight six engine was faster then a Ferrari. The top speed of the Jaguar was estimated 261 km per hour, which was enough for people to feel all the excitement from high speeds.The car was very stable for the time and well appointed inside with neat leather and wood finishes.  Jaguar E-type has been touted as the most beautiful looking car ever made.       

    

Its not only jeremy, but the famous Enzo Ferrari one said – “The most beautiful car ever made”. Some people used to say “this is a beautiful woman in a car form” I personally love the design of this car and it reminds me of simplicity of the old times. The gorgeous lines, the smooth finish that posh look or a lady.

Even though from today's standards the car is not as advance as the modern cars are. But just imagine sitting in a sports car which just costs around 2k GBP in 1961, which was less then half of what Ferrari was, and even faster was spectacular. The Engineering, the body all was hand made.You translate now and the cost of the original Jag E - Type is in Millions. 

The Jaguar E type completed 50 years in 2011, and on this special occasion the collections edition book was published.
